HYUKOH is a Korean indie rock band formed through the solo career of leader,
singer and guitarist Oh Hyuk, who grew up in China before moving back to Korea
after high school. Adding bassist Im Dong-geon, guitarist Lim Hyun-jae, and drummer
Lee In-woo, the band has quickly gained popularity through their song lyrics that speak to
the loss of youth. That combined with their stylish and genre-bending funk and garage rock
sound, music videos, performances, and everyday fashion has made Hyukoh symbols
of Korea’s millenial generation. Last year was their most successful yet, with their album
<23> winning the Best Modern Rock Album at the 15th Korean Music Awards, and the song
“Tomboy” taking the Song of the Year and Best Modern Rock Song prizes. A string of tours
across Asia and Europe and an extensive North American tour has propelled the band towards
international stardom.
